Outer Limits Brewing is precisely the kind of brewery that Vermont Bike & Brew seeks out. Founded in 2019, this family-run brewery provides a much needed gathering space for both local beer-lovers and folks visiting from out of town. Located just outside of Ludlow, VT in the town of Proctorsville, Outer Limits is a stop you won’t soon forget!

The dirt roads in this area offer some of the finest riding in the entire state but it is tough to say with certainty that the riding is the highlight of this route. The Green Mountain Sugar House on scenic Route 100 has been serving up some of the best maple creemees in Vermont since 1946 and has been family-owned ever since. Enjoy some soft serve and Vermont souvenirs on the shores of Lake Rescue.

Just a few miles farther, which gives you some time to digest or maple treats, you’ll arrive at Buttermilk Falls. Here there are three falls, with the middle and upper falls being the most scenic and offering the best opportunity to take a mid-ride swim. After you’ve cooled off and taken some photos, it is time to follow the scenic dirt roads back to Outer Limits.

“We had so much fun! We had a gorgeous back-road ride, lakeside pic-nic and beer finale. Electric bikes let us see so much more of (the crazy hillsides of) Vermont. Jonas is so friendly and gave us an incredible route. Fantastic way to spend our anniversary- highly recommend!“
