Tour Overview
Some of Vermont’s finest gravel roads begin just steps from the Norwich Inn, and you’ll be rolling down them in no time. Your journey starts behind this historic inn, where a Vermont Bike & Brew staff member will meet you, get you fitted to your e-bike, and help you pick the perfect route.
Choose your adventure:
- Short Route: 17 scenic miles through the hills and farmlands of Norwich.
- Long Route: 28 miles including a riverside ride along Route 5 to East Thetford.
Whichever route you choose, you’ll be treated to sweeping countryside views, quiet dirt roads, and some of the best local stops in the state.
Your first highlight: Sweetland Farm, a highly diversified farm where you can grab snacks, refill your water bottle, and enter our exclusive Vermont Bike & Brew guest raffle for a chance to win a Sweetland Farm T-shirt. (Pro tip: pre-order a Snack Basket during booking for a ready-to-go picnic!)
If you’re riding the long route, head onward to Cedar Circle Farm, Hello Café, and Red Clover Café where you can enjoy handcrafted espresso and explore their lush greenhouses — a peaceful spot to recharge before the return ride.
Back in Norwich, treat yourself at King Arthur Baking Company, the nationally beloved bakery and café located right here in town. Fresh pastries, salads, and sandwiches are served daily until 4:00 PM.
Before you wrap up, make time for a wander through Dan & Whit’s General Store — a Vermont legend where you can find everything from hardware to handmade gifts (and probably a few things you didn’t know you needed). Their motto says it all: “If we don’t have it, you don’t need it.”
Finally, toast your ride at Jasper Murdock’s Alehouse inside the Norwich Inn. Known for brewing traditional English-style ales in small batches, this cozy pub is the perfect place to unwind. Grab a pint inside the historic tavern, out on the patio, or in the sunny beer garden.
